What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic, “whole-body”, healing systems. It was developed more than 3,000 years ago in India.

We offer 1 on 1 consultations utilising traditional methods to such as pulse and tongue analysis.

We will then suggest specific changes in diet and lifestyle. Ayurvedic herbs or treatments tailored to the individual will be recommended.

Consultations

Once your Ayurvedic Consultation is scheduled, we will send you a constitution test to help determine your Prakriti (Original Constitution) and Vikriti (Current State).
At your consultation, we will review these test results with you, as well as utilize pulse and tongue analysis along with other traditional methods.
Once your specific constitutional imbalance is determined, we will discuss methods such as Asana, Pranayama, Mantra and Meditation as well as Ayurvedic herbs, dietary and lifestyle changes which can be implemented in order to bring balance back to the body/mind.
Each individual is a very unique combination of the 3 Doshas physically, Vata (Air/Ether), Pitta (Fire/Water) and Kapha (Water/Earth) and the 3 Gunas mentally, Tamas (Inertia), Rojas (Activity) and Sattva (The balance of these two). The proportions of these qualities are in a constant state of flux and are influenced by many factors such as seasons, time of day, food, lifestyle habits, home environment, etc.
The uniqueness of individual constitution requires that the combination of methods used to bring one back into balance must also be uniquely tailored to each person. After your consultation we will send any recommendations and needed reference materials and also offer follow up consultations to adjust and refine our approach.
